That's the female version of Commander Shepard. Yeah, the official default version that will be showing up in the marketing materials.
With BioWare announcing earlier that they will be including the female version of Commander Shepard (affectionately referred to as "FemShep" by fans, the protagonist in the developer's critically acclaimed Mass Effect series of whom gender can be decided by players) in their latest installment's marketing materials, fans were exhilarated to take part in the voting process between five prototypes.
When it was eventually confirmed that the winner of the five turned out to be the blonde, a stereotypical choice by many's views, the voting process continues, this time seeking fan'views on the color of FemShep's hair color. And there you have it, the winner: A redhead. Fans just seemed fairly predictable, isn't it?
Meet the official "FemShep", who will be featured in an upcoming trailer and the the cover of the Mass Effect 3 N7 Collector's Edition. Incidentally, the offcial unveiled artwork was done by Polish artist Patryk Olejniczak, who was the artist behind the astounding Mass Effect 3 fan art that we have witnessed earlier. Olejniczak is now one of the official artists working on the title.
