Resistance 3's Cool Logo-free Reversible Cover

Set to be released on September 6th, Resistance 3, Insomniac Games's Resistance 3 get a cool reversible cover just so that you can have a good, logo-free look at the amazing box art of British artist Olly Moss.

We have earlier covered on the unveiling of the official box art of Insomniac Games' PlayStation 3 shooter Resistance 3, featuring the work of one of our favorite graphic wizard, British artist Olly Moss. In typical Moss form, the box art certainly didn't disappoint, giving us one of the sleekest and best video game box art in recent memory, so much so that the trailer recently released at Gamescom were molded in the graphic style of Moss's work. Nevertheless, we were quite perturbed by the numerous logos all over the places on the box.

And now, in a much-welcome move for those with an eye for cool graphics, Sony and Insomniac Games have announced that they will be offering a "clean/logo-free inlay/reversible cover" on Insomniac Games's Twitter account.

The clean/logo-free inlay/reversible cover you'll find when you open Resistance 3 on 9/6!!! #fb http://yfrog.com/18vpzdj

Adrift: Teaser Trailer & Art - Gamescom 2011

"Remember you soon." At Gamescom, French-based video game developer Dontnod teased us with their upcoming action-adventure title, Adrift.

Perhaps the most elusive announcement at the recently ended Gamescom, French-based video game developer Dontnod unveiled their project with only a premise and ten concept art pieces. And in peculiar way, the tease rise above and beyond its call of duty and have us completely intrigued.

Here's the premise of the title, directly translated (thanks to our trusty Google Chrome translation tool) from the original French text at Dontnot's official site:

Neo-Paris 2084

Augmented reality and manipulation memorial took control of people's lives.

We can now buy, sell or exchange its own memories. The last barriers of privacy have fallen, in line with the rise of social networking and location-based early XXI th century.

The control society, accepted by the citizens themselves, in exchange for some technological benefits, is now a reality that no longer takes the trouble to challenge.

This economy of memory is not without giving immense power and uncontrollable to a handful of people ...

Feeling a little Philip K. Dick-ish with the deep sci-fi premise? Wait till you check out the announcement trailer consisting of zero animated motion and instead filled with ten concept art pieces of the title.

Now that we got you feeling a heavy dose of the iconic sci-fi classic, Blade Runner, any sci-fi fans would have to agreed that those are some incredible images depicting dystopian cityscapes that existed in our mind when we read the cyberpunk works of the aforementioned Dick and William Gibson. One might argue that at this early stage of the development of the title, we might be overtly haste to come to any judgement but we certainly are impressed by the work here by concept artist Aleksi Briclot and award-winning sci-fi writer Alain Damasio.

In the announcement, we understand that Adrift (working title) will be a third-person action-adventure game currently scheduled to be released some time in 2012 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

In parting, here are all ten of the concept art pieces, readily available from Dontnot's official site.

Soulcalibur V: New Trailer, Character Art and Screens - Gamecom 2011

With the recently ended Gamescom, we have yet another glimpse at Namco's fifth edition of the eternally retold tale of soul and sword.

Right beside Capcom's Street Fighter X Tekken, Namco's Soulcalibur V is undoubtedly the other most anticipated title in the current resurgence of fighting games.

We have had extensive coverages on the fifth edition of Namco's Soul series during earlier events such as E3 and Comic-Con. With the recently ended Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, a new trailer has been released. Hit the jump to check out the trailer, furnished with more gameplay sequences than the previous versions.

Along with the new trailer, further confirmation of the roster, as well as scores of character arts and screenshots from the title was also released during the event.

Joining the previously confirmed roster would be returning characters, Maxi, Tira, Hildegard "Hilde" von Krone, and Voldo, who have been with the series since the first installment.

Here are the character art and their CG iterations, respectively.

Maxi, the nunchaku-wielding pirate.

Tira, the demented servant to Soul Edge.

Voldo, the blind, mute, and deaf loyal servant to the merchant Vercci, who is incidentally one of the twisted characters in fighting game history.

Hildegard "Hilde" von Krone, the princess armed with a short sword and a spear who debuted in Soulcalibur IV.

And here are the newly-released screenshots.
